Three books to read inspired by the English countryside

A cozy indoor scene with Laura in a dark green sweater reading a book at a table covered in a blue and white checkered cloth. The setting includes a white mug, a green pitcher filled with colorful artificial flowers, and warm decorative touches like string lights, framed artwork, and a shelf labeled “Home-made Preserves £3.50.” The atmosphere evokes comfort, quiet reflection, and the charm of a countryside village tea room.
One of the places where I love to read: the cosy village tea room of West Meon, Hampshire

📖 Reading has always felt like coming home to me. Not to a house made of bricks, but to one of paper and stories — a magical place that gather the scattered pieces of our lives and offer comfort like a warm cup of tea on a rainy day.

Books calm us, inspire us, and awaken that hidden, bright part of ourselves that everyday life often hides. They’re gentle refuges, small parallel worlds where the heart can rest and the soul wander freely.

That’s why my new video returns to a theme I love: books set in, or inspired by, the English countryside.

January felt like the perfect moment to revisit this topic. When the wind howls and the rain taps at the windows, what could be better than curling up in a cosy cottage with a good book next to a roaring fireplace?

In the video, I share three stories (plus a little surprise) that have accompanied me through different moments of my life — books that have made me dream, reflect, and feel deeply. I hope they will touch your heart too.

The video is in Italian, but you can enjoy it too by activating the properly edited English subtitles on YouTube - select CC in Settings under the video and choose English.
