Downton Abbey it's easily my favourite TV series and it is the one that has done more than any other to promote the English countryside and its unmistakable lifestyle.
It's not just a beautiful story, with great actors and gorgeous costumes, but also a show that continually showcases the beauty of the English countryside and its ancient traditions, offering a very realistic glimpse into life in England at the beginning of the 20th century, seen both from the perspective of the upper class and the servants.
In short, Downton Abbey is a perfect topic for my blog!
And 2025 is definitely the right year to return to the subject of Downton Abbey: on 12th September, the third film in this successful franchise, which has captured the imagination of millions of people around the world, will be finally released.
In this video, which completes the mini-series started with the video 'A day in real Downton Abbey', I'll take you to Bampton, the quintessentially English village on the edge of the Cotswolds that has been used as the set for the fictional village of Downton in both the TV series and films.
Joining me on this journey is a special guest, who knows everything there is to know about the Cotswolds and runs his own YouTube channel entirely dedicated to this beautiful area of the English countryside. He lives in Bampton and will be sharing with us some fascinating insights about the impact of Downton Abbey on the village. Curious to find out who he is?
Is there a better way to prepare for the third film?
The video is in Italian with proper English subtitles on YouTube.
